gcad

Parametric CAD, one operation per line

A part is a text file read like G-code: sketch, extrude, hole, fillet, one operation to a line. Assemblies place the parts with mates and joints, and the viewer rebuilds the model every time you save.

What it does

Parts and assemblies

Part files hold one part, or several bodies that share sizes. Assemblies bring parts in, join them with turning and sliding joints and check that nothing overlaps.

Simulation on the GPU

Torque, static, thermal, modal and buckling studies, and air flow by a lattice Boltzmann solver: 21 million cells around a robot arm in about two minutes.

Out to the shop

Exports STEP, STL, OBJ, 3MF, SVG drawings with section views, and a bill of materials. Built in Rust on the monstertruck B-rep kernel.

Written for agents too

Every line reports what it did, so a coding agent can write a part, check it and fix it without looking at the screen.
